We’re humming at the Braun household. I’m a hundred percent after my knee surgery and raring to go. The tree is up and decorated, I’ve set out some vintage elves that I absolutely love, I have my Christmas dinner menu all planned, all the checks are written and the presents are wrapped, my Christmas newsletter and cards are in the mail, I made it early to the post office so I didn’t have to wait in line to ship my out of town packages...

Coming Thanksgiving Weekend, Book Five, Dear Noah, The Conclusion
For those of you who haven’t read the series yet, Annie Parker is 80 years old when she begins writing about a time in her life when she was starting over. She moves up to the rustic Lake Arrowhead mountainside and restores a series of 1920s cabins that have their own stories to tell. Dear Noah is the story of Annie’s life with Noah and ends when she’s in her mid 80s, taking us full circle until she starts writing her story.

Now that it’s the beginning of October, the mornings are cool, the days are warm, and we’ve taken the blanket out of storage to toss on and off during the night.
Dear Noah, The Conclusion is due out the first week of November, and I’m planning on a quick recovery from knee replacement October 21 to do a book signing up in Lake Arrowhead Thanksgiving Weekend. If I can walk, I can sit, and I’ll keep you posted.

I can only use this rhyme once, unless I get to book 24.
Sad to say, I have an expiration date (still unknown, thankfully) so I probably won’t write that many books in my lifetime. But I couldn’t pass up saying it. And if you even read and pay attention to my newsletters, it seems I announced Book 4 would be published in January. Well, that didn’t happen, so I’m re-announcing it now.

One minute you're celebrating the new year, and the next it's dressing up for Halloween (or just buying candy like me), and then popping a turkey in the oven (or like me, finding somewhere where the meal's already prepared!) But I do love Fall....

Netflix called...They want to make the books into a series (Don’t I wish?)
And did I already mention the trilogy is turning into 5 books?
Book 4, The Maidservant in Cabin Number One, is the story about the woman who ends up owning the cabins before selling them to Sam, who sells them to Annie.
Book 5, Dear Noah, is Annie’s story from her thirties to when she turns 80 and decides to write these books.

Just thought you should know that, for without our typewriters (aka computers) there would be no new books to read.
And speaking of new books, book three of the Trilogy, The Starlet in Cabin Number Seven, is off to the publisher, and should be ready in a couple of months. (Book Publisher’s Day is January 16. We missed it!)

Halloween is right around the corner and I always like to feature some cute ideas for those of you who have the inclination. This year, when you have nothing else to do, wrap Tootsie pops you can give away to a small crowd. If you have a hundred trick or treaters, I’d just give them the pops! Haha.

Writing a book and getting it ready to publish is a lot of work! It’s not just the process of actually writing it and getting your ideas down on paper, it’s editing it to make sure it makes sense, letting everything digest, having people read it to get their reactions, more digesting, more editing, having an editor who gives feedback on story continuity, editing, having a proofreader read it and then editing again.

Ready or not, Fall has arrived. The thermometer won’t co-operate but leaves are turning colors and the nights are cooler. And we’ve had a lot going on.
I never thought I’d move from our home in Long Beach….I remember too well how I would have robbed a bank to have that house. It was way back just before I turned 40 (I’m now 71!) But we were selling our home in Lake Arrowhead ...
